Community Engagement & Environmental sustainability
- Community Engagement: Our farm welcomes a local school twice a week, engaging in educational activities that foster appreciation for nature and the countryside. These experiences in our woodland not only benefit children but also contribute to the wider community's understanding of sustainability.
- Queens Commonwealth Canopy Project: We are honoured to have been chosen to participate in the Queens Commonwealth Canopy Project, playing part in a new wooded landscape across 200 square miles of central England in 2018. We received native saplings rowan, silver birch and English oak which we planted as family in a dedicated place at Windmill Farm for a sustainable source of feed and shelter for the wildlife. Our dedication to planting native saplings showcases our commitment to wildlife nourishment and preservation.
- Windmill Farm Christmas Trees: We also remain committed to supporting local charities, contributing to Teardrop, St Oswald's Hospice, and GNAA, a charity that holds a special place in our hearts. Our commitment is further exemplified by our fundraising efforts, such as "Name the Snowman" cards and a life-sized sleigh that families can enjoy for photos, with kind donations placed in a designated box.
